My name is Shannon P. I graduated from Mercer University in 1996 and taught in the private and public sector for 6 years before homeschooling my boys for the past 17 years. Both recently graduated from high school, so I am tutoring part time to do what I love best. I am also a lead curriculum developer for LUOA and have written their Latin I curriculum for the 2024-25 school year. I am a life long learner and enjoy reading well written books and dabbling in dog training as well....

English grammar is my passion though. I thoroughly enjoy diagramming sentences and teaching the structure of the English language. Latin expands on this grammar as everything you learn in English can be applied to Latin. I firmly believe that a solid base in English and Latin is the structural foundation for learning the 5 Romance languages and will prepare you for success in life! Learning hard things helps a person learn how to think and reason and determine the truth by being able to read ancient documents for yourself.
