Hi! I’m Alexis, a Georgia-certified educator with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education and more than 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring students. I specialize in helping elementary and middle school learners strengthen their skills in reading, writing, math, homework support, and study skills. I also have extensive experience working with students who have learning differences and may benefit from additional structure, repetition, visual supports, or alternative ways of learning.

My tutoring approach is highly individualized because I do not believe students learn best through a one-size-fits-all model. I take time to identify the skills a student has already mastered, where the gaps are, and which strategies help concepts make sense to them. Lessons may include direct instruction, guided practice, games, visual models, real-world examples, and targeted skill review. Whether we are working on phonics and reading comprehension, multiplication and fractions, writing, or more advanced math concepts, my goal is for students to understand what they are doing rather than simply memorize steps.

Just as importantly, I work to help students become more confident and independent learners. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and recognizing their own growth. Parents can expect thoughtful, purposeful instruction that is built around their child’s specific needs and academic goals.
