I hold a BS in Mathematics from the University of Georgia and an MS in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut. As an undergraduate student, I won the Hollingsworth Award for my performance in Applied Linear Algebra. I have passed 2 qualifying examinations in Mathematics at the PhD level and hope to complete my degree in the coming years. Outside of school, I am an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, the qualification for which demanded much work in Statistics and Mathematics, spread across preparation for the 7 requisite exams. I have completed multiple graduate level research projects in Applied Actuarial Science at the University of Connecticut.
I find Mathematics and Logic, and to a lesser degree Statistics, inherently interesting, including tutoring and teaching. I have taught 5 mathematics classes at University of Wyoming as instructor of record. Throughout this time, I also tutored in the university's Center for Assistance in Statistics and Mathematics. Previously as an undergraduate student, I tutored for Wyzant, predominantly helping students from University of Georgia and University of North Georgia with their Mathematics courses. I have also done a decent amount of informal/unpaid tutoring for my friends over the years in Mathematics and Statistics. I feel comfortable tutoring mathematics through the 3000 (or 300) collegiate level and Statistics through the 1000 (or 100) collegiate level. I began my studies in Mathematics in 2016, at which point I have already done some informal tutoring in the subject.
