I am a certified English teacher in the state of Georgia (English 6-12, ESOL, and Gifted endorsements) with a background in writing, journalism, and communications. I hold a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Systems Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Ohio University (3.9 GPA).

I have over 10 years of experience working with students from upper elementary through adults in both classroom and one-on-one settings. Across my teaching, tutoring, and community education work, I have supported dozens of students in improving reading comprehension, strengthening writing skills, and building confidence in their academic abilities. My experience includes essay writing, grammar, revision, reading analysis, and test preparation, including support for school-based and college-level work.

My approach is structured, practical, and student-centered. I break complex skills—such as essay development, organization, and grammar—into clear, manageable steps so students can make progress quickly and consistently. Students I work with typically see improved clarity in their writing, stronger organization, and increased independence in completing assignments. I focus not just on what to do, but on how to think through problems so students can apply these skills across subjects.

I also support executive function skills such as planning, time management, and task initiation, which are often key to academic success. In addition, I am trained in autism-informed coaching and take a neurodiversity-affirming approach. I work with students to identify how they learn best, reduce overwhelm, and build systems that support follow-through and confidence.

Whether working with a student who needs foundational support, a developing writer, or someone refining advanced skills, my goal is to provide clear instruction, practical strategies, and measurable progress in every session.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I’m a former English teacher and working writer who is far more interested in voice, structure, and truth than formula. If the hero’s journey works for you, great—but it’s not the only map, and I help students write outside of it. I work across literary nonfiction, short fiction, fables, and poetry, helping writers find what they actually want to say and build the craft to support it. My coaching focuses on clarity, rhythm, structure, and revision—how a piece moves, where it breathes, and what it’s really doing on the page. I work with both emerging and experienced writers who want to sound like themselves, not like a template.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have extensive experience speaking in both live and virtual settings, including presentations to audiences of hundreds, webinars, and interactive Q&A sessions. My background includes work as a broadcast journalist and writing coach, where clear communication, audience engagement, and message structure are essential. I have coached individuals in both small-group and one-on-one settings, helping them organize their ideas, manage nerves, and deliver with confidence. My approach focuses on practical strategies—structure, delivery, and presence—so speakers can communicate effectively in classrooms, professional settings, or large-scale presentations.
