Education has always been a driving force in my life, both personally and professionally. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University and later obtained a master’s degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Leadership and Advocacy. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in curriculum development, child psychology, and culturally responsive teaching practices that center student identity and voice.
With over 18 years of experience in education, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and tutor students from diverse backgrounds, primarily in underserved communities. My experience spans kindergarten through second grade, with a strong emphasis on English Language Arts and foundational math skills. I’ve worked as a team leader and curriculum chair, providing instructional support and mentoring to fellow educators. Outside the classroom, I’ve offered tutoring services in both one-on-one and small-group settings, focusing on personalized strategies that help students gain confidence and make meaningful academic progress.
I believe in meeting students where they are by using student-centered, hands-on learning strategies that support various learning styles. I’ve worked with students ages 4 to 10, including those with learning differences such as autism, ADHD, and speech and language delays. My approach blends empathy, patience, and high expectations, creating a safe space for students to explore, make mistakes, and grow. My goal is to help every child I work with feel seen, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential—academically and beyond.
