My name is Megan, I am a graduate from the University of North Georgia. I have studied Mandarin Chinese for 7 years now, and was a Chinese Major as part of UNG’s Chinese Flagship Program. I would love to pass on what I have learned to young minds who are looking to learn a new language and expand their knowledge of Chinese Language and Culture! Additionally, I have been a drummer and musician for 14+ years and am deeply passionate about all things related. My specialty is in drumset, concert percussion, and marching percussion, but I also sing and beat box. Throughout grade school, and college I have been part of a Ceremonial Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, an a Capella Group, as well as High School Marching Band. I would love to pass on the instruction that I have received, and give back to upcoming musicians that wish to better themselves in the world of music!
I love working with kids and there is no age too young or old to learn!
I have previously worked with students in Kindergarten and 1st grade in conjunction with their Elementary School Chinese Immersion Program.
I’ve been taught by some of the best teachers in the country, traveled abroad, and have accumulated a wide variety of knowledge from Chinese Language, History, Historical Literature, Culture, and Business.
I personally suffer from ADHD, and have spent years developing coping mechanisms, strategies, and solutions that work for how to overcome focus and attention issues while learning. I understand how the ADHD brain works and can you or your child overcome similar struggles that he/she may be experiencing.
I am extremely passionate about music and would love the opportunity to help others find their own passion for music. Whether it be discovering new genres of music, learning more about music theory, percussion rudiments, or helping prepare for an audition or solo, my goal is to leave the stud
