I have a Master's degree in Art and studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I have many years of experience teaching courses in drawing and painting at various colleges and universities, at well-known art academies, and teaching adult students at all levels in my private studio. I have won multiple awards and honors for my portraits and landscape drawings and paintings in charcoal, pastel, oil, acrylic, and watercolor mediums. I work in both traditional realistic and impressionist styles. I have a spacious fully equipped art studio with all of the art supplies and resources to help you achieve your goals to learn art and become a better artist.

I most enjoy working with adults and college students who already draw or paint and want to improve their skills and abilities in drawing and painting and those who want to to try drawing and painting for the first time. I love helping students learn the techniques necessary to improve their artwork. It also gives me great satisfaction to see smiles on the faces of students who never painted and learn enough to produce a realistic drawing or painting which they can share with their families and friends. I will teach you the principles of anatomy, proportion, perspective, values and color theory which you need to produce good realistic drawings and paintings. I will demonstrate how to apply those principles in making a drawing or painting. I will observe you while you draw and paint and give you the amount of feedback you want and feel comfortable with to improve your artwork. We will work from photographs, professional Italian made casts, and from life as you learn to draw and paint in my spacious in-door studio and beautiful outdoor gardens.
