Over the summer, I plan to teach macroeconomics and microeconomics, K-12th math (up to AP Calculus BC), and K-8th general curriculum. I graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in economics and physics with honors. I used to teach SAT and ACT prep, various AP classes, and K-12th math classes at a tutoring center. To teach economics, in addition to taking intro-intermediate macroeconomics in college, I've amassed and studied a variety of economics textbooks and mastered the concepts by explaining it to myself when the going got hard, so I can explain them in a way that will make sense to you. As for high school math, my experience tutoring high school math at a tutoring center and the fact that I can share curriculum from Common Core math high school textbooks will result in you mastering that year's concepts.
I am also qualified by Wyzant to teach Math/English/Reading and, if hired, can rent from the library the Common Core curriculum books (a K-12 curriculum commonly chosen by state governments and reflecting a grade's normal curriculum), as well as purchase some Common Core books to teach you from or indicate what books to buy online. Obviously, I have gone through K-16+, so, while I haven't had professional experience teaching K-8 (except for 3 students at my ex-tutoring center), I am patient, optimistic, detail-oriented, prepared, and kind enough to tutor kids in material from grades I remember.
I believe in the growth mindset -- you can always grow. No one's abilities are set. You can even see the difference when you have trouble studying something one day, the concepts begin to make sense on the second day, and it all becomes clear on the third day. There are times in school where I definitely could've used a tutor but none were available, so I stared at homework problems for hours and struggled to remember facts for tests. I can ease you of your pain.
