I have spent over a decade in education — first as a Social Studies teacher across Cobb, Fulton, and Sarasota County schools, and now as a high school counselor at Lambert High School in the Atlanta area. During my nine years in the classroom, I taught AP US History, AP Psychology, World History, U.S. History, Honors U.S. History, and Government, including two years delivering the Cambridge AICE Diploma curriculum. I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Kansas, a second Master's in School Counseling from Liberty University, and state certifications spanning History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, and Behavioral Science.
What sets me apart isn't just subject knowledge — it's that I understand how students actually learn. I've worked with inclusion classrooms, ELL students, gifted learners, and everyone in between. At Milton High School, I taught AP US History to 100+ students per year with a discussion-based model built around critical thinking and analytical writing, the exact skills that make or break AP exam scores. My approach to tutoring mirrors what worked in those classrooms: meeting students where they are, making content relevant, and building genuine confidence through mastery rather than memorization.
As a school counselor of three years, I now see the full picture of a student's academic journey — the stressors, the gaps, and what it actually takes to succeed beyond the test. Whether your student needs help with AP exam prep, understanding a difficult concept, or building the study skills and habits that carry them through high school and into college, I bring both the classroom expertise and the counseling perspective to make sessions meaningful and productive.
