Hi! I’m Nevin, currently a Computer Science student at Stanford University, where I pursue my passion for problem-solving and logic. I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school and scored a 1590 on the SAT, which reflects my strong academic foundation. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of tutoring students across a wide range of ages and skill levels in math and science subjects, including everything from elementary concepts to advanced AP Calculus and Physics. My tutoring approach focuses on helping students truly understand the reasoning behind each concept rather than just memorizing steps. I tailor my lessons to each student’s pace and learning style, using active problem-solving and real-world examples to make sessions engaging and effective.

I have experience tutoring both one-on-one and in small groups, providing personalized guidance to build confidence and academic skills. Many of my students have improved their grades and test scores within just a few weeks of working together. I am also flexible with session formats, offering both in-person and online options depending on what works best for the student and their family. Additionally, I provide optional practice materials and progress tracking to ensure continuous improvement. I am approachable, responsive, and committed to supporting every student’s goals. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session — I look forward to helping you succeed!

Accuplacer

Accuplacer

I took the Accuplacer in high school as part of my dual enrollment program and passed it on my first attempt. Since then, I've helped other students prepare for the test—most recently helping a friend pass the math section for GSU. I’m familiar with the key math topics tested, including arithmetic, algebra, and quantitative reasoning, and I focus on breaking down each concept in a way that makes it easy to understand and apply. My goal is to help students build confidence and reach their target scores efficiently.
College Counseling

College Counseling

As the valedictorian of South Forsyth High School, I was accepted to multiple top 20 colleges, including Stanford University. I specialize in helping students craft standout college applications, from building a strong activities list to writing powerful, authentic essays. I know what top schools are looking for and how to present your story in a way that resonates. Whether you're targeting Ivies, UCs, or other elite institutions, I can help you navigate the process with confidence and strategy.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I’ve taken and excelled in Discrete Math during high school, earning an A while also completing advanced math and CS courses such as Differential Equations, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Applied Combinatorics—all with top marks. As a Stanford Computer Science major, I’ve developed a strong understanding of logic, proofs, graph theory, and mathematical reasoning. My tutoring focuses on breaking down abstract concepts into clear, intuitive steps that build real problem-solving skills. I help students not just memorize definitions, but truly understand how discrete math forms the foundation of computer science and algorithm design.
Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365

I am officially certified in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. I’ve helped students and professionals improve their skills in formatting documents, creating dynamic presentations, and mastering data analysis tools like formulas, charts, and pivot tables. Whether you're learning the basics or looking to boost productivity with advanced features, I tailor each session to meet your needs. I'm confident in helping learners of all ages become more efficient and confident with Microsoft 365 tools.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a Stanford Computer Science major and former high school valedictorian, I’ve helped multiple students write compelling personal statements that showcase their voice and story. I specialize in brainstorming, editing, and refining essays for the Common App and supplemental prompts. My students have gone on to gain admission to top schools by writing with authenticity, structure, and strategic depth. I focus on helping each student communicate their unique value in a way that resonates with admissions officers.
SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

I’ve been tutoring students for the SHSAT for over 2 years, with a focus on building the skills and strategies needed to succeed on both the Math and ELA sections. I break down complex word problems, grammar patterns, and reading comprehension techniques in a way that’s clear and easy to apply under timed conditions. My students have seen significant score improvements and gained admission to top NYC specialized high schools. With a 1590 SAT score and a strong background in standardized test prep, I aim to build confidence and mastery through targeted, efficient lessons.
