Hi there! I have many years of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring experience in the sciences. I graduated with honors from Austin College with a B. A in Biology. During college, I was invited to work as a teaching assistant and peer mentor for the Biology and Chemistry Departments. For my honors thesis, I conducted 3 years of rigorous genetics research. After graduation, I was admitted to UTMB Galvestons PhD program focused on virology, but I decided to spend a year working for non-profits focused on wildlife conservation in the tropics. I was admitted to Yale University's Master of Environmental Science program in 2020. For my master's thesis, I focused on the genetics of critically endangered Indian wolves and the diversity of medicinal herbaceous plants in the Ecuadorian Amazon. I also worked as a research assistant for Yale and Harvard Law School to lead a team writing a report on live animal markets and emerging zoonotic diseases. To promote inclusivity and diversity, I also invited scientists and conservationists from all over the world to conduct seminars for Yale University's students and faculty. After graduating from Yale in 2022, I was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to French Polynesia to study shark genetics, abundance, and diversity. I currently work at animal hospitals and clinics preparing for veterinary school and PhD programs.
My goal is to help students improve their grades and empower them to achieve their goals through individualized and tailored tutoring plans for each student. In addition to tutoring students needing help with biology and chemistry subjects, I also provide career counseling (especially alternative careers) and offer to proofread college applications, school assignments, grant applications, financial aid applications, etc. My friends and colleagues say that I am friendly, honest, and dedicated.
