Jerome M. NREMT EMT-B / EMS Instructor-Coordinator (Former Paramedic)
EMS Educator | Public Speaker
With over 25 years of experience in 911 Emergency Medical Services and Rescue, I bring a deep commitment to prehospital care and EMS education. For the past six years, I have served as an EMS Instructor/Coordinator and classroom tutor of Emergency Medical Technicians, emphasizing not only the how but also the critical why behind emergency treatments and EMT skills. My approach fosters clinical reasoning and a deeper understanding among students.
I previously served as the Paramedic Coordinator at Huron Meridia Hospital (now part of the Cleveland Clinic) in Cleveland, Ohio. My responsibilities included responding to medical and trauma emergencies, initiating IVs, interpreting ECGs, administering medications, performing intubations, and executing physician orders in accordance with advanced protocols. As Paramedic Chief for the City of East Cleveland EMS, I was responsible for hiring paramedics, coordinating post-call debriefings, and overseeing budgeting and administrative operations.
Academically, I hold an Associate of Science degree from Cuyahoga Community College and Columbia Southern University, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Columbia Southern University, with graduation anticipated in three months.
I continue to mentor and instruct the next generation of EMTs with clarity, dedication, and passion for the field.
