I offer tutoring for students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, neurodivergence, executive dysfunction, learning anxiety, and those looking to improve English pronunciation, articulation, or creative expression. I have a master’s degree in mental health and learning and over 25 years of experience working with learners of all ages—from very young children to college students and older adults. I also work with multilingual learners and homeschooled my son.

My approach begins with assessing each student’s strengths and challenges in areas such as phoneme awareness, symbol imagery, decoding, comprehension, and expressive language. Many reading programs focus only on fluency, but I take a deeper view—addressing gaps in decoding, imagery, or comprehension, whether individually or in combination. I also support students in developing creative confidence in both writing and speaking, since strong writing begins with fluid, expressive ideas.

I incorporate accent reduction work through a focus on phonemic awareness and articulation. By helping students better understand how English sounds are formed and used, I support clearer pronunciation and more confident verbal communication.

Most of my students have complex learning profiles, and I aim to provide thoughtful, personalized support. I often work with parents—when helpful—to share strategies they can use at home to reinforce what we’re practicing. I offer general assessments, periodic feedback, and collaborative planning to shape goals that make sense for each learner.

I am patient and encouraging, and I focus on helping each student recognize their strengths. Together, we’ll work to turn challenges into meaningful, lasting skills.

Parent consultations/follow up are always free.

I will work hard to reply to all inquiries within 24 hours and can begin services within a couple of days.

Creative and patient tutor

Jill is meeting my child exactly where she is and connecting with her personal interests to find ways to make learning fun. Jill crafted a special Taylor Swift-themed math game that enticed my kid to actually like math! She is so creative and engaging, while at the same time challenging my kid to try more difficult problems. My kid is eager to keep tutoring with Jill!

First Session with Jill

We met with Jill virtually for the first time. She was patient, kind, and engaging with our son. I was nervous wondering how he would respond to online tutoring, but Jill is very intentional and aware of ways to connect with others. We are so pleased with the process so far and we are looking forward to more times with Jill!

Great Teacher

Our first lesson with Mrs. Jill went great! She was very friendly and patient with my daughter. I loved her techniques and methods that she used in order to understand my child’s struggles & also her engagement with me as a parent. If you’re looking for a great tutor I will definitely recommend her.
