I'm a retired math teacher from Dekalb County, and teaching was a “second career" for me. Most of my adult professional life was in the corporate world as an engineer and later, as a manager... so I think I bring a good dose of real-world experience to the classroom.
Of special note... from 2013 to 2016, I lived and worked in Shanghai, China as the headmaster of a small, private international high school. It was a life changing experience....

Great with students
Tim worked with my son in coordinate algebra. He made sure my son understood the concept and not just worked with him on problems. He asked questions that made my son think about what he was doing versus just giving him the answer. He engaged me as the parent as to what he felt I could also do to help at home. After one session, I'm confident he's a good fit for my child.

Great Tutor
Tim was instrumental in my son doing well this past school year in math. He assessed his learning style. He was able to help us determine areas where my son needed improvement and gave us the tools needed to strengthen his math skills. He went over homework and also CRCT review. He showed him different ways to address math problems. He was consistent with his time and if we had any questions he was not hard to reach. He was always available when there was a change in my schedule. He was very flexiable. Tim helped build my son's self-esteem and develop a interest in math. He left material to re-enforce what was done the previous week. I welcomed the accountability form for my son, myself and Tim. I am glad that I found him through Wyzant.

Professional and Inspirational
Tim is the absolute best. He has inspired my child to want to do more. Math is becoming easy to him. Tim is patient and helps him to understand by giving him relevance to everyday things. My son is encouraged and his whole attitude has changed. He can't wait until Wednesdays to show Tim what he has learned. He is confident in his answers and does not second guess because he knows. Tim also gives me feedback after each session to let me know where my son stands and I really believe that my son will be ready for the next level. I kid that I may have to keep him around until my son is out of college like they did in the movie the Blindside. Mr. Tim M is the real deal!!Thanks for all your help!!
