With more than 18 years of teaching experience across three countries—Jamaica, The Bahamas, and the United States, I have developed a rich and diverse understanding of education and student needs. My career has allowed me to work with learners at both the elementary and middle school levels, shaping my ability to adapt instruction to a wide range of developmental stages and cultural backgrounds. This international experience has strengthened my commitment to equity, inclusion, and high-quality instruction for all students.

I currently serve as a special education teacher at a middle school in Georgia, where I support students with disabilities in both resource and general education settings. As the English Language Arts support staff for 7th grade, I cover the full ELA curriculum while also providing targeted remediation lessons to help students close academic gaps. My responsibilities include writing IEPs, conducting IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and collecting data to guide instructional decisions. These duties require strong collaboration, detailed documentation, and a deep understanding of individualized learning needs, skills I have honed throughout my career.

My academic background reflects my dedication to lifelong learning. I hold an associate degree in Elementary Education from Shortwood Teacher’s College in Jamaica, a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Development, and a master’s degree in Special Education. While teaching presents many challenges, it also offers profound rewards. There is no greater joy than witnessing my students make progress and confidently apply the concepts they have learned. I am guided daily by the belief that “It’s not the income, it’s the outcome,” a reminder of the purpose and impact behind the work I am entrusted to do with the young minds I serve.
