Hello! I'm Erica, and I look forward to working with you. I have two areas of expertise that I love to share: writing and yoga.
Writing is my first passion. After receiving my B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing, I was a professional digital content creator for a Fortune 500 software company for more than a decade. The role allowed me to expand upon my creative writing to include essays, white papers / research, interviews, and human interest articles. Though I no longer work in the corporate world, I still love writing and helping others discover and hone their innate ability to communicate.
I received my 500-hr yoga teacher training, enhanced with additional certifications (details below). For the past 12 years, I've taught yoga asana (movements and postures), pranayama (breath control) and guided meditation. I specialize in trauma-conscious yoga, a lens that I apply to restorative, hatha, vinyasa / power, yin, and perinatal (prenatal / postpartum) yoga asana classes. On a physical level, students gain enhanced flexibility, strength, better balance, improved coordination and greater lung capacity which is helpful for sports and general wellbeing.
In yoga, I also integrate principles of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). It's a mindfulness practice that focuses on interpersonal relationships. The two work beautifully together, helping students regulate their nervous systems, manage emotions, improve confidence, and respond--rather than react--to challenges.
I can't wait to work with you and help you reach your fullest potential!
Take Care,
Erica
