Hello,
My name is Bonnie and I have an undergraduate degree in English with a concentration in Advanced Rhetoric and Composition. I have 5 years of experience tutoring elementary through college aged students. During the pandemic when most schools went virtual, I monitored and tutored my grandson as he completed the 6th and 7th grades virtually. The virtual program turned out to be more rigorous and challenging than the standard inhouse curriculum, and students had to maintain a "B" average or be expelled from the program. My grandson ranked at the top of his class, and he achieved the highest score on the MAP test after returning to in person learning in the 8th grade. I use a variety of teaching methodologies and styles depending on the student and the individual's needs and goals. I retired from a career in healthcare in 2020, and I'm currently enrolled in the Fine Arts Program at Georgia State University. I have continued to learn and stay up to date with regards to my skills. I have recently accepted a volunteer position as a board member with Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur, Georgia. I'm looking forward to working with other board members to create a positive college experience for students.
