I am a certified French teacher (K-12) with a Master's Degree in the Teaching of French from the University of Southern Mississippi. My undergraduate degree through Mercer University in Macon, GA was a double-major in French and International Affairs and included a study abroad at the University of Grenoble in southeastern France.

I am in my second year working as a French teacher at Brookstone School and have seventeen years' French teaching experience prior to moving to the Columbus, GA area in 2022. I have a passion for the French language and culture and I strongly value a student's desire to learn the language. I am very happy to work with any level from basic conversational grammar and vocabulary through advanced history and literature. I have experience teaching AP and IB ab initio through DP French.

I have traveled extensively in many parts of France, both individually and in group travel (including having led three very successful student trips), and could additionally serve as a great resource for planning your trip to France around your interests.

In addition to my French language expertise, I have experience teaching English language and literature, Writing, World History, and US History at the secondary school level.

Due to my full-time teaching job, my tutoring availability is limited during the school year (mid-August to late May), but more open during the summer months.

I look forward to meeting and sharing my love of language with you! À très bientôt!

Very knowledgeable and patient with my daughter

My daughter has been having a terrible time learning French. I have seen an improvement already after only a few lessons with George in her study habits and grades.

Flexible, Thorough, and Patient

It is a joy to work with George. I use the words "to work with" because we are on an adventure together, exploring the French language and culture. Being a teacher myself, I appreciate his ability to go where my interests and needs are and not to have a set program. George displays a thorough knowledge of French pronunciation, grammar, and, especially, everyday conversational expressions which are generally missing in classroom instruction. I highly recommend him because I know that he will adapt to your individual needs and make learning French fun.

I am very satisfied with my French professor. Mr. George is very patient, answers to all of my questions and has the dedication that is required to be a good teacher. I highly recommend him to other students.

Excellent tutor for the whole family!

Ryan (George) has prepared my entire family for an upcoming trip to France. His knowledge of the region and French customs is impressive. He has great patience with our children (9 and 6 years old). His creativity and flexibility make learning French fun for all of us. We highly recommend him as a tutor and a pre-travel resource. We will have a richer experience in France because of his influence.

Excellent tutor

I found our tutor online without any idea what I was getting into. Since day one he has been an excellent pick. He is always on time, very professional, easy to reach, communicates well regarding the work he is doing with our son on a weekly basis, and has proven himself to be a great resource to us. This year my son elected to take a high school self guided honor French class and it became increasingly difficult for him to keep up with the class due to lack of structured lessons and minimal interaction time with the teacher to work out issues. Given that French is not a native language to him or to us we could not be of any help to him at the level he was at. Consequently, we arranged for our tutor, Mr. George M. to start working with him. Within the first week George started working with my son I received very positive feedback from the teacher and the marked improvement in his performance continues upward. I am very satisfied with the work Geroge M. is producing and I would highly recommend him to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.
