I am a highly qualified teacher and I do teach middle school Mathematics. I have been teaching for 10 years now! I like to think that my style of teaching is adaptable. I normally like to gauge what students know and start from there. One of my rules is: I will not expect you to know something unless I have taught it to you personally. Math is a process not a one size fits all subject.
I have tutored students of all ages ranging form 6 to 20. I teach in all different settings such as: whole group, small group, and individual. I like math, but I really like to see students problem solve using sound reasoning. Ultimately I'm concerned for a student's ability to make sense of the problem and explain how to find their answer. If the answer they found is incorrect, I expect the student to go back to the drawing board and try again!
