Bio

Hi!
My name is LaToya. I have my degree in Early Childhood Education (birth to 5). I have been working with children for 9 1/2 years. I believe that children learn best through play and will be most successful when they enjoy learning, and the way I teach reflects that belief! Children should be able to explore their curiosities making learning fun. I also believe that every child is different and so is the way they learn. My approach will depend on the needs of the student, but I believe a...

My approach will depend on the needs of the student, but I believe a hands-on approach is most successful, especially when it comes to younger students. I have always loved working with children and helping them learn and love it is all I know! I would love to get connected with a family and provide the necessary tools needed for their child excel above and beyond expectations!

Basketball

Basketball

I have been playing since I was 5 years old. As I became older I became better in the sport. I played at Madison County Middle School 6th-8th grade where I lead my team to the Championship game my 7th and 8th grade year where we won the title in 7th grade. In high school I started on Varsity as a freshman and held that position as Point Guard up until mid season senior year (torn ACL). I have won numerous awards in basketball (MVP, best defensive award, Best All-Around, Conference player out of Madison County). After high school, I was a coach for a spring league that lasted 6 months (ranged from freshmen-juniors).
Cooking

Cooking

I was taught at an early age the importance of knowing how to cook. My mom would let me assist her in the kitchen whenever I wanted to. In high school I took Home Economics for 2 years where we learned to cook as well as sew and knit! I also took an elective Cooking class because I loved to cook and eat!
Track & Field

Track & Field

I have been running track since middle school. I ran in the 4x1 relay, 4x4 relay, 100m, 200m, long jump, and triple jump. I love coaching in track and teaching the students the different types of techniques needed to be your personal best. I volunteer at my high school whenever time allows me and I love that even now (10 years later) students know me and allow me to help out!
Volleyball

Volleyball

I was a very sports involved child growing up I loved sports and tried to be in them all. I played Volleyball in high school 10th-12th on Varsity I was the setter. I really enjoyed the sport and wished I had been exposed at an earlier age. After graduation, I volunteered my time at the high school helping in the sports I played.
