I teach professionals and graduate students how to think with data and improve how work gets done. My core subjects are Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt, and certification exam prep), applied statistics, data science with Python and SQL, and project management. I currently serve as an adjunct instructor at Emory University, where I teach Lean Six Sigma courses and coach working professionals through full DMAIC projects from charter to control plan. Before that, I spent a career leading and training teams: I retired from the U.S. Army as a Command Sergeant Major after decades of building instruction programs and developing leaders, then moved into private industry as a Master Black Belt driving improvement programs in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing.
My educational background includes MIT data science credentials and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, and I am the author of a published book on continuous improvement. I have taught in classroom settings, one-on-one coaching engagements, and corporate training environments, working with students ranging from college-age learners to mid-career executives. Most of my recent teaching is individual coaching: I currently mentor Black Belt candidates through Emory one-on-one, reviewing their real workplace projects, correcting their statistical analysis, and preparing them to defend their work.
My method is simple and proven: I teach the concept, demonstrate it with a real example from industry, then have you apply it immediately while I coach. Students do the work; I make sure they understand why it works. Whether you are preparing for a certification exam, struggling in a statistics course, learning SQL, or leading your first improvement project at work, you will leave every session with something you can use the same day. Expect direct feedback, practical examples, and steady progress.

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

I coach students and professionals with ADHD on the executive function skills that make school and work manageable: breaking large tasks into steps, building study and work systems that hold up on low-motivation days, managing time and deadlines, and getting started when starting feels impossible. As a twice-exceptional, high-performing adult with ADHD myself, I coach from direct experience with what actually works — not theory, but the concrete systems I have used to lead complex operations and build a successful career while managing the same challenges my students face. My professional background reinforces this: I spent a career designing structure and training people for a living, first as a U.S. Army instructor and Command Sergeant Major, then as a process improvement expert and current adjunct instructor at Emory University. My approach is practical rather than clinical: we build external systems, checklists, and routines that work with your brain instead of against it, and every session ends with a concrete plan you can execute before we meet again, whether you are a high school student or a working adult.
Business

Business

I run a consulting firm serving as fractional COO and CFO for healthcare and professional services companies, advising CEOs on operations, finance, and growth strategy. I retired from the U.S. Army as a Command Sergeant Major after leading large organizations and managing theater-level logistics, then spent two decades in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing leadership. I teach business improvement methods as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and am a published author on operational excellence. I coach students and professionals in business strategy, operations management, finance fundamentals, and leadership with real examples from industry.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I hold MIT data science credentials and have spent two decades analyzing real operational data as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing and as a fractional executive advising CEOs. I teach data analysis daily: as an adjunct instructor at Emory University I coach professionals through hypothesis testing, regression, control charts, and root cause analysis on their actual workplace data. I work fluently in Python, pandas, SQL, and Excel, and I teach students to move from raw data to defensible conclusions, not just to run the numbers. Whether you are in a statistics course, learning analytics for your job, or building a capstone project, I show you how professionals actually interrogate data and present findings that hold up to scrutiny.
Data Science

Data Science

I hold MIT data science credentials and build production data science and AI systems for a living: my company develops machine learning pipelines, LLM applications, and analytics platforms for healthcare and business clients. I interviewed for lead data scientist roles at Fortune 500 companies and work daily in Python, pandas, scikit-learn, SQL, simulation modeling, and modern AI tooling. I teach as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and coach students one-on-one through the full data science workflow: framing the problem, cleaning data, choosing models, validating results, and communicating findings to decision makers. Whether you are in a bootcamp, a graduate program, or teaching yourself, I focus on the judgment that separates working data scientists from people who just know syntax.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I build and deploy machine learning and AI systems in production through my company, including LLM applications, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, agentic workflows, and self-hosted open-weight models running on my own GPU infrastructure. I hold MIT data science credentials and work hands-on every day in Python, scikit-learn, PyTorch-adjacent tooling, vector databases, and modern LLM frameworks, so I teach from current practice rather than textbook theory. As an adjunct instructor at Emory University and a one-on-one coach, I walk students through the full arc: supervised and unsupervised learning, model training and evaluation, prompt engineering, and getting a model out of a notebook and into something people actually use. Whether you are learning the fundamentals, preparing for a technical interview, or building your first real AI project, I focus on the practical judgment that makes systems work.
MBA

MBA

I coach MBA students through the courses that trip most people up: statistics, operations management, managerial accounting, finance, organizational behavior, and capstone projects. I teach graduate-level professionals as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and work daily as a fractional COO and CFO advising CEOs, so I connect every concept to how it actually plays out in a real business. My background includes MIT data science credentials, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, a published book on operational excellence, and a career leading organizations in the U.S. Army and Tier 1 automotive manufacturing. I help students master frameworks like Porter's Five Forces, DCF analysis, and process design, then apply them in case studies, discussion posts, and written assignments with confidence.
Python

Python

I write Python daily to build real systems: discrete-event simulation models with SimPy, data pipelines with pandas and NumPy, database work with SQL, and AI applications using modern LLM frameworks. I hold MIT data science credentials and have applied Python across two decades of operations and analytics work, from manufacturing process models to production software for business clients. As an adjunct instructor at Emory University I coach professionals one-on-one, and my method is consistent: I teach the concept, show a working example, then have you write code while I coach and catch the mistakes. Whether you're learning the fundamentals, working through a course, tackling SimPy or data analysis, or debugging a project that won't behave, you leave every session with running code you understand.
QuickBooks

QuickBooks

I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and work daily in QuickBooks Online as a fractional CFO managing the books for healthcare and professional services companies. I handle the full cycle in live client accounts: chart of accounts setup, invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliation, payroll, month-end close, and financial reporting. I teach business courses as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and bring that same structured teaching approach to one-on-one QuickBooks coaching. Whether you are a business owner setting up QuickBooks for the first time, a bookkeeper building skills, or a student learning accounting software, I teach you the workflow the way it is actually done in practice.

A knowledgeable and patient tutor

I have never had a tutor that explain everything so quickly, and with a finesse that really helped me understand the material at heamd quickly. William (Rob) helped me right off the bat. He reviewed my materials ahead of booking the session and provided insight of how to jump right in the learning session. I did pick up a few small tools along the way, which I was not expecting. I felt like I was being taught, not just given the answers, which is really what I wanted. Rob also reviewd my post work and gave some more advice on how to polish up what I was going to submit. In turn, I ended up crushing the final summative assignment all thanks to the help I recieved. Very pleased with the help and the results! In the future, I am sure that I will need assistance, and when I do, Rob will be my go to for that help.
