College student majoring in Christian Ministry

I am currently attending college and am majoring in Christian Ministry with an emphasis on Pastoral Studies. I'm an associate pastor and I like volunteering at our monthly food pantry as a counselor.

I have never worked as a tutor before, at least not in the academic sense. I spent over twenty years in the commercial plumbing industry as an apprentice, plumber, foreman, project manager, and estimator. During those years I taught others how to plumb, and why we do things according to a state code.

I didn't just teach them how to cut a piece of pipe, or how to solder a copper joint, I taught them how to read and interpret blueprints, how to follow an engineer's specifications. I've also had experience in teaching Bible studies and Sunday school lessons. I love to teach others what I have learned from others that loved to teach as well. Helping someone gain the confidence they need to succeed in the future brings me great satisfaction. It's the moment you see the light bulb go off in their head. That ah-ha moment.

I have years of reading and comprehension experience. My former occupation and my current educational endeavors rely on that experience. I am a student of the Bible, I do not claim to have it all figured out, but I know that God is revealed through His Word.

I started playing football when I was 5 years old, and I played until I graduated high school. I was good, I was a starter. I played for a small school, so most of the time I played both ways. That means I played as Center on offense and then as Nose Guard on defense. I enjoyed playing, and now I enjoy watching. I've had a couple years experience helping coach Pee-Wee, and I love watching the kids have fun while they learn some very valuable life lessons.
