With over 15 years of experience teaching middle school math and science, I am passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed academically. I currently teach 8th grade math full time and also teach high school science in the evenings, which allows me to work with a wide range of learners and academic levels. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of varying abilities, including struggling learners, average students seeking additional support, and advanced students looking for enrichment opportunities. I also provide targeted tutoring for students preparing for standardized math testing and understand the importance of building both foundational skills and test-taking confidence.

My approach to tutoring focuses on creating a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I believe every student can grow with patience, consistency, and individualized instruction. I work hard to identify each student’s learning style and adapt lessons to meet their specific needs, whether that means breaking concepts down step-by-step, using real-world examples, or providing additional practice and encouragement. I hold a Master’s degree in Talented and Gifted Education from Arkansas State University, which has strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction and challenge students appropriately. In 2018, I was honored to be recognized as Teacher of the Year, an achievement that reflects my dedication to student success and meaningful relationships with learners and families.

I understand that many students have faced academic challenges in recent years, and I strive to help them not only improve their grades, but also rebuild confidence in their abilities. My goal as a tutor is to help students become more independent, motivated learners while showing them that they are capable of success in math and science.
