Hi, I'm Vicki. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Major in Elementary Education. Upon graduating and becoming a certified teacher, and during my first few years in the classroom, teaching upper Elementary and Middle School Math.. It was very common for my students that were academically behind more than 2 grade levels, to show that they were on grade level by the end of the academic year. Also, my students, consistently, scored in the top 10% on state assessments. I later taught all subjects in grades 2-6. I always introduce the new topic in an interesting and engaging way in the classroom and frequently review previous taught skills to insure they were not forgot and to reinforce learning for those who struggle with a previous skill. These methods can easily be adjusted for each students’ individual needs and desired outcome.
I have been tutoring for over 3 years. I follow a lesson plan like what is used in the classroom. I do everything I can to ensure success and to may the tutoring sessions pleasant and engaging. I offered tutoring afterschool in small groups for 5-10 students that needed extra help. I originally tutored only in person, but when covid happened. I became fully remote and loved it. I currently tutor individually virtually. I follow the I do, we do, you do approach. Insuring students get adequate support and opportunity to complete tasks on their own. I tutor daily for those who needed a lot of extra help. In these sessions I offer Math, Reading, and Writing, I feel tutoring virtually is wonderful for many reasons. It allows a better fit for everyone's schedule and allows me to share my skills with students from anywhere in the world.
I want to benefit the students I work with and hope to inspire the love of learning. I look forward to working with you, in helping you or child to improve academically.
