I am a Christian educator with over ten years of experience teaching and supporting students across elementary and middle school settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am certified to teach PK–8 in all core subjects except science. My background includes teaching 2nd and 5th grade in self-contained classrooms, middle school and high school English Language Arts (grades 6–10), and serving in school leadership where I supported curriculum alignment and instructional coaching. Throughout my career, I have worked with students in whole-class settings, small groups, and one-on-one, helping them build confidence, mastery, and a love for learning.
As a tutor, I bring a strong understanding of how children learn and how to meet students where they are academically and emotionally. I specialize in literacy, writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and humanities, and I am also comfortable supporting elementary math and social studies. My approach is structured but encouraging. I believe clarity, consistency, and relationship-building are key to student growth. I use evidence-based strategies, scaffold skills carefully, and focus on helping students understand the “why” behind what they are learning so they can transfer skills independently.
I have taught students ranging from early elementary through middle school and have supported a wide range of learners, including students who need remediation, enrichment, or confidence-building support. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I prioritize clear explanations, guided practice, and meaningful feedback. I also value communication with families and strive to partner with parents by sharing progress, strategies, and next steps. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them grow as confident, capable learners who understand their strengths and believe they can succeed.
