I am Paul, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana in the USA. As New Orleans is famous for great food (Cajun & Creole), great music, and friendly people, I consider myself to be well versed in all three. I have two sons and one granddaughter. I currently live in Carrollton, Georgia in the US.
I have been an English teacher all my adult life: 40 years. I taught for 20 years in the US and 20 years overseas. My professional posts include Kuwait, Egypt, Japan and China. These locations have given me opportunities to travel extensively. While overseas, I made it a point to befriend the locals in order to truly know each culture. These experiences have given me a flexibility and understanding of various peoples, social structures, and even educational practices/philosophies. While in each country, I also taught classes and provided tutoring services outside of my regular schools. These lessons were provided to students from the age of 12 through 65. Therefore, I was able to gain a unique insight into each culture due to these more personal lessons. It also has given me the ability to adapt my lessons to suit the needs and wants of every student individually. This specifically prescribed care for the student produces results quickly and effectively. I teach all genre of literature, all levels of writing, and all types of oral training and conversation. Having taught both AP courses, I can teach both fiction and non-fiction. My writing lessons extend from writing simple sentences through advanced research writing at the university level and beyond. Oral language ranges from giving speeches to debates, and business or casual conversation. Of course, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension are extensions of all of these and inclusive. In short, I am well experienced in teaching all types of English to all types of students and to adapt these lessons to best help the individual student. Student improvement is quick and effectively achieved.
I have taught English for 40 years: 20 years in the US
