Whether categorized as special needs, gifted, or general education, I truly love helping students reach their full potential. I believe that by tapping into each student's unique learning style, I am able to effectively help students understand the curriculum. I use hands-on strategies to help engage "hands-on" learners.

I also completed the testing for our district and frequently identified instructional strategies to help students with dyslexic tendencies.I have a teaching certification in both Michigan and Georgia (k-8).

In addition to serving as a classroom teacher, I served as an assistant principal and behavior interventionist for two years. I serve as a tutor, behavior consultant, and special education advocate. I would love the opportunity to work with you. Please contact me to schedule a consultation or tutoring session.

Creative and Patient

First lesson with Apryl was great, she was very patient with my 5 year old son. Her teaching style is very creative and she was able to hold his attention while teaching him reading, writing and math all at once.

Wonderful Tutor

Apryl is an excellent tutor and has a way of teaching that really engages my daughter in math. We feel very blessed to have connected with her through Wyzant!

Apryl takes the time

Apryl takes the time to find out what your kid really needs then makes a plan for how to help them get it. We are excited about finally being on the path to success. It will take time and hard work for my son to get there, but she explained why he needs to do the things he needs to do - instead of just telling them to do them. He is excited about going down this path and that has never happened.

ADHD Tutor - excellent!

Apryl was professional, on time and prepared to meet my son to determine the best way to help him with organization and school preparedness. In one session, she was able to determine his learning style and introduce the idea of accountability by giving him a specific action item to complete before next session. My son is excited to meet with her again!
