I have a degree in Art Education from Northern Illinois University and a degree in Game Design from Columbia College Chicago. I taught high school art and art history for a few years out of college. Later in life, I tackled a degree in game design and have been working with independent game studios all over the country composing music, creating interactive sound effects, and implementing audio using Unity.
I have deep experience with the Unity game engine. I have been using it for 10 years including time spent developing my own online multiplayer game. Animation, sound design, coding in C#, networking, level design. You name it and I've done it in Unity. I've also taught Unity concepts at Columbia College Chicago.
I believe that video game design is relevant to all ages and learning levels. The process can teach the concepts of logic, composition, visual design, and even empathy - as you try to understand what might motivate players to interact with your game.
