I am a recent graduate of Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a Ph.D. in K-12 Studies. I currently work as a middle school Business and Computer Science teacher in the state of Georgia and I am passionate about computer literacy. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others who have the desire to become computer literate. Being a parent and an educator, it is important to provide high quality, personalized tutoring and mentoring to my students. I believe all children are entitled to a good education and extra help after school if they need it. I am certified to middle and high school Business and Computer Science in the state of Georgia and South Carolina.

I believe that students learn when they are exposed to different ways of understanding the material. The teacher’s job is to make the information available for the students. Once the teacher transmits the information to the student, it is up to the student to construct their knowledge from the materials provided. It is important for students to realize that the decision to learn lies solely on their shoulders.

Teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning, reflection, and growth. There is a need for compassionate, dedicated, and strong individuals to teach children in society. It is important for students to receive a solid education and to have the opportunity to work with an educator that has a deep passion for their success. My goal as a teacher is to know who my learners are, what kinds of knowledge and experience they bring to the group, and what they want to achieve so that I can tailor a curriculum that fits their needs. The role of a tutor is extremely important.
