My name is Maryann. I have recently received a Master's degree in Geology and Geophysics specifically focused in remote sensing and GIS. I have also received a Bachelor in general Geology that had focus on petrology, geophysics, and sedimentology. I have received an award for being the top Geophysics student in my department for doing research and excelling in my classes in my undergraduate degree. I have worked as a graduate research assistant for my master's degree that was focused in remote sensing and GIS. I have teaching experience from doing STEM programs at my school by preparing presentations for K-12 grade students on various topics in geology as well as showing various surveying methods. I have also done educational videos focused on informing high school students in geophysics.
I am willing to help out in any Earth Science subject except for geochemistry. I am particularly knowledgeable in GIS, geophysics, and remote sensing. But don't hesitate to ask for help in introductory minerology, sedimentology, petrology, or if you are just doing a physical science class. I am also willing to help with algebra, statistics, geometry, or trigonometry at high school or college level. While my teaching experience has been in earth sciences I have taken and excelled in those classes and my degree has involved such level of mathematics.
My aim to help a student not only pass a class but to have a solid understanding of the subject. I seek to build confidence and ensure that a student fully understands a topic. I believe in establishing good foundations so that more advanced topics come much easier.
