Hello! I'm Benjamin, and I am a qualified tutor for medical school topics including USMLE Step 1, USMLE Step 2, and medical school shelf exams for core topics (Medicine, Family Med, Pediatrics, Surgery, Neurology, Psychology, and OBGYN). I am a current 4th year medical student at the Medical College of Georgia, and I graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in biochemistry. I passed USMLE Step 1 on my first attempt, and I scored a 268 on the USMLE Step 2 exam (~92nd percentile). I have received a 4.0 GPA as a medical student and as an undergraduate. My scores on the core medical school shelf exams have ranged from 86-96 out of 100. I have an in-depth understanding of the medical curriculum, and since I recently took Step 2 in March of 2025, I am familiar with all the latest topics included on the exam.
I have worked as a tutor since high school with about 5 years of teaching experience. I strive to customize my lessons to each student's unique goals and needs. I am happy to develop lessons around specific questions that students have or to select high-yield topics to review. Some methods that I use for teaching are practice questions, active learning/discussions, and brief lectures. Throughout medical school I have developed practice exams for my peers, so I am well versed at approaching questions to avoid the most common mistakes. Additionally, since I am a current medical student, I can share my own study techniques to improve retention and learning outside of tutoring sessions.
The types of students that I have worked with before include high schoolers, undergraduate college students, and medical students. I have worked both with high-achieving students looking to further boost their scores by examining common trick questions, and with students who are just entering medical school and still working through the basics. No matter what your goals are, I am excited to work with you to help you meet them!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
