An outstanding English tutor should be organized and prepared with a lesson plan to teach. The lessons should be engaging and fun. Individual difficulties must be recognized. Strategies for development will be put in place. Progress will be measured. A tutor should regularly communicate with other tutors for unknown strategies and ideas.
An outstanding Phonics tutor will teach phonics systematically. The student is helped by being able to relate sounds and letters. Opportunities for practice and application are regularly introduced. Good reading and writing skills are the results of learning phonics well.
