Hello, my name is Michelle. I graduated cum laude from the University of Chicago with a double major in Biology and Neuroscience. I was also a competitive Varsity swimmer and have provided swim lessons to children of all ages and adults for 8 years, from teaching new beginners the basics to fine-tuning technique for seasoned athletes! I love helping someone reach their goals while having fun and have learned to be very patient with my students as they learn. This translates into my academic tutoring as well. I strive to explain concepts as many times or in as many creative ways as necessary until it clicks for the student! I am flexible with my teaching approach depending on the individual to make it an enjoyable and successful experience for both of us.
I have a strong background in STEM subjects such as Biology, Neuroscience, Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Physics, and Psychology as well as English, Writing, and Grammar. I received straight A's throughout the elementary, middle, and high school and always helped my friends understand tricky concepts outside of class if they needed help. I have also had many years of experience teaching pre-school children and children with disabilities in both the classroom and the pool. I am primarily looking to teach students from K-12, but am also open to taking undergraduates. I will always welcome any materials from students or parents to better guide the material for each tutoring session!
I am also able to speak Korean fluently and Spanish conversationally to aid in my teaching if necessary.
I love meeting new people and strive to make learning with me something to actually look forward to! Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
