Hi there! My name is Marceon, and I want to help you with your schoolwork! Learning new things can feel hard and frustrating, but I believe in the power of YET. Through 10 years of classroom work, volunteering, and mentoring, I’ve learned that success comes not just from hard work or talent, but from a GROWTH MINDSET. I’m patient and happy to work through every step with a student. With support and persistence, everyone can grow. Let’s work together and see what we can accomplish!
Regarding my background, I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in English and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut, where I earned a 4.0 GPA. I taught 5th grade for two years and have worked in 15+ elementary schools. I’ve also worked with high school to college aged students as a mentor and guide.
I enjoy helping students strengthen their reading and writing. I love proofreading, have been published twice, and edited a published storybook for Veterans. I help students develop ideas, express themselves clearly, and feel more confident in their work.
I also have a background in psychology. I earned a 4 out of 5 on the AP Psychology exam and began college as a psychology major where I studied general, developmental, and educational psychology. Psychology and education have taught me that people learn in different ways, and I’d love to help students explore psychological concepts.
Outside of teaching and writing, I enjoy singing, dancing in the mirror, laughing with friends, exploring fine arts, learning about Black culture and history, watching video essays on YouTube, following politics, and playing video games! I bring that curiosity and enthusiasm to my work with students.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need help. If you’d like to schedule a lesson, I’ll get back to you within 24 hours. Let's do this!
