Personable and Understanding Tutor Specializing in Algebra

I'm DeAngelo! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. From grade school to college, I've always had a passion for math and numbers. Math is a subject that has always been easy for me to grasp, which is why I majored in Computer Science. My desire to spread knowledge and teach children math has led me to become a tutor.

I was a mentor to younger kids in both high school and college. As a mentor in high school I met with elementary school students once a week. I helped them with math and reading homework. As a mentor in college, I mentored 3 incoming freshmen Computer Science students. I helped them with Calculus math and Java computer programs. I enjoyed the satisfaction I got from knowing I was helping someone whose shoes I was in just a few years before. I was also a summer camp counselor for 2 consecutive years over the 11-14 year old age group. We had sessions with math, games, and outdoor activities. I've always had a desire to transfer knowledge and teach students.

My tutoring strategy for everyone isn't black and white. I will tailor it according to the individual and in the way I feel is best for him/her to understand the material. I will start off by getting to know your child first so they will be comfortable and trusting of me. Then we will focus on the subjects that are the most difficult to understand and go from there. We will work thru homework problems and additional workbook/textbook questions.

I took Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry and Precalculus in High School and graduated with a 3.8 GPA. I took Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Differential of Equations and Statistics in college and graduated Cum Laude.

I want to benefit the student I am working with as much as possible so I am open to any suggestions. I am easy to reach and will respond in a quickly manner so feel free to reach out to me so we can setup your first session.
