Bio

I graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and a Minor in Psychology. My love of theatre actually stems from my passion for classical works such as Shakespeare, Grecian texts, and Jacobean plays. I graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre and a Minor in Psychology. My love of theatre actually stems from my passion for classical works such as Shakespeare, Grecian texts, and Jacobean plays. I recently graduated from LAMDA with a Masters in Classical Acting, which required an intense study of classical texts such as Shakespeare and his contemporaries. Not only did I acquire an in-depth understanding of rhetorical devices, grammar and text analysis, but I also honed my ability to take complex and sometimes esoteric passages and express them clearly to a contemporary audience, unfamiliar with such language.

My experiences with making classical texts more comprehensible have greatly enhanced my ability to take complex information and distill it into a clearer and simpler form. This has informed my teaching method of tailoring my style to the individual student’s needs. I am a strong believer that clear communication and open dialogue are vital to a fertile learning environment, and that it is also important to encourage students to be the best that they can be.

I have three years experience tutoring English, ESL and Math to elementary school children during my undergrad. I worked both 1 on 1 with students who required additional help as well as in group sessions. I was a National Merit Semi-Finalist and got a 2310 on my SAT (with perfect scores on both Reading and Writing) and I also got top scores on both my AP English Literature and AP English Language tests.

Similarly, I received a top score on my AP Psychology exam and then proceeded to minor in psychology during my undergrad. In 2016, I graduated form Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre, during which I also apprenticed at the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. I also have experience teaching theatre at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia as a summer counsellor in 2012.

Had my last lesson with Merav today before my SAT in two days. I have definitely learned so many new skills that I wouldn’t have without Merav’s help.
