I'm Daly -- pronounced like "daily". I love teaching people math, and I'd love to help you or your student with whatever concepts you need. I enjoy tutoring math so much, I even went back to school after a long time so I could be a math teacher. I'm certified to teach 7th-12th grade math, and I've helped students from 2nd grade through College Algebra to understand math. I get excited when I get to find a way to help somebody and then see that light come on when they understand. I try to...
I try to encourage my students, and I understand that things are just hard to get sometimes. I will be patient, but will expect you to work with me. Together, we can handle the difficulties you're having.
My bachelor's degree was mostly math courses, so I have a strong, deep background. I've also taken some physics and logic courses, and have always studied with classmates so we could talk through tough concepts. Before I went back to school, I worked in construction-related trades for nine years. Thankfully, I got to use my understanding of math in a lot of those areas. I had to figure out things about how much flooring to buy and how to form the correct angles, and I had to work with a lot of fractions. These proved to be very helpful ingredients for a practical and theoretical understanding of how to make these subjects make sense.
Parents and students are welcome to bring or suggest any methods or resources. My goal is to help students gain understanding. Please don't hesitate to contact me with whatever questions you have, or to schedule a lesson.
