Greetings!

I have served as an instructor for 30+ years from elementary education to undergraduate university levels in the fields of ESL, Humanities, Spanish, Poetry, and Language Arts. One-on-one or small groups allow a special focus on the learning process and I can better assist you towards desired results. I utilize useful learning strategies, memory techniques, and organizational patterns that fit YOU. I have a foundation in using artifical intelligence ( AI). The learning process is intriguing so I create fun, engaging, and purposeful ways to benefit the learner.

I hold a Master's in Education with additional credits in linguistics. I earned certifications for grades 1-9, Language Coaching, Bilingual, English as a Second Language, Intercultural Communication, Reading, Management, and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).

I provide personalized English instruction and cultural nuances for second language speakers in business areas, workplace, job search skills, academic environments, test preparations, and in general. I also provide cross-cultural communication training for corporate, non-profits, and university environments. I am an awarded poet with three collections of poetry, have facilitated writing groups, and hosted a poetry column for a national organization. I speak Spanish and Portuguese.

I am quite familiar with learning styles and the structures of various languages, having worked with 100+ nationalities. I am patient, kind, experienced, and determined. I know what is needed for second language students and for individuals who need to improve their writing/speaking/listening/reading skills for university level and in the workplace. I often post on LInkedin.

All questions are good ones. I receive excellent feedback and I am serious about what I do. Contact me for any questions and let's see what we can do for you!

I have worked with internationals for 35 years in English and Cultural Nuances. I have trained American, Korean, and Brazilian English instructors who work with children, business professionals, and academia. I prepare students for TOEFL, IELTS, and TOEIC. I include American-style professionals skills when working with second language business people. I prepare resident doctors in USMILE interviews.

TOEFL

I have prepared dozens of students for their TOEFL exams. In most cases, the students may be strong in listening and speaking but need writing and reading work. I have many students who just need speaking preparation. It's unusual when students are strong in all areas but it does happen! Let me help you gain English knowledge and test-taking strategies to simplify the process for you.
Writing

Writing

I have prepared hundreds of students in their writing endeavors either in high school or university. I teach methods of writing and documentation for essays and documentation. I also include editing and proofreading techniques.

Miracle worker, no really !! so amazing

Our child would take 2 days sometimes 3 days to write a single passage, working with Ms Kathy something has shifted, he is enjoying writing and is not procrastinating. I am not sure what magic this is.. but for an entire year we were frustrated with our inability to help our child with his struggles. Ms Kathy worked with them for a few weeks and as i said something shifted.. and the writers block melted away.

Thank you, Prashant. Your child is a pleasure to work with and a gifted writer.

Great Lesson

Kathy is currently helping my son with his public speaking skills. He had a speech due in class and Kathy worked with him on tactics to deliver a great speech. My son is very difficult to understand at times and Kathy is working in general on getting him to slow down as he has a tendency to speak fast (the braces don't help!). So far, so good!!
