I work as a German tutor and occasionally as a translator. The majority of my classes that I tutor are in English, but I also speak Polish and French. I am also a certified English/German and German/English translator and I have received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Munich, Germany with a 5-year research period at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. I have lived in Germany since I was 8 years old and grew up bilingually. I moved to the USA in 2008.

I have been taking a weekly German lesson with Anna for about 6 months now and she has drastically improved my breadth of knowledge in so many ways. She is excellent at adapting the lesson to focus on your needs and wants while still maintaining consistent learning opportunities for the things we all struggle with like grammar and speech. I struggle so much with the nitty gritty of German grammar and Anna has been instrumental in helping to break it down easily and incorporates grammar practice into every lesson we have. She brings new exercises and readings for us to work on every week and is great at letting me come to the answers on my own while still guiding me. I would absolutely recommend her - I will be her student for as long as she teaches! She's kind, flexible, intelligent and a natural teacher. Ich habe Glück, dass sie meine Lehrerin ist!

Was wäre ich ohne Anna?
I came to Anna as maybe an A0.2 German speaker, I had done some minimal self study but had no practical ability with the language. I wanted to jump straight into an intermediate level German class at my college and Anna has been instrumental in making that jump successfully. I’m not exactly a linear learner, I like to jump around and find interesting corners of knowledge and Anna is always willing to go on those little side adventures with me. Whenever I’m not understanding something or have questions she’s ready and able to provide further explanations so that I get a grasp of the concept. She has exercises prepared and informative presentations that layout concepts succinctly and clearly. The learning environment is low stress, I make tons of mistakes and Anna is always constructive with her corrections. As with learning anything, and especially a language, the student has to push the process forward and challenge themself. I’ve found Anna to be a great partner in both providing exciting and interesting challenges, as well as accepting ones that I bring to the lessons. 10/10 would recommend!

Anna's approach to teaching German is very effective! As a motivated student, my experience is that she does outstanding work figuring out where I lacked as a learner before beginning to learn from her and where to fix any deficiencies I may have had in the past. She is friendly and always has answers when there is a question during a lesson.

Professional and Knowledgeable German Tutor
Anna has been my one-on-one German instructor for the past year. We meet on a weekly basis for an hour and a half during which time Anna works with me on my comprehension, written and verbal skills in the German language. She is constantly striving to push me to the next level of language acquisition. As a French linguist myself, I am amazed at how Anna, who speaks four languages, navigates the intricacies of the German language with such ease. Each time we meet, it is quite apparent that Anna has thoroughly researched and prepared the lesson in advance. She is an excellent German language instructor!!
