I am a former elementary teacher with 10+ years of education experience, specializing in math and reading instruction. With that being said, I LOVE teaching! I majored in Elementary Education and hold a Masters in Reading, Language and Literacy. Throughout both my tutoring and teaching experiences, I have been able to work with students in both larger/whole group settings as well as one-on-one or smaller settings. With both experiences, I have experience gauging the strengths and weaknesses of the students. I pride myself in being able to hone in on how exactly to instruct the student in terms of learning styles and how the student best learns.
Tutoring is definitely a passion of mine because I enjoy working in an one on one capacity with students. Students are able to build confidence in the subject area and really hone in on strengths as well as work hard on those areas of improvement! I enjoy the process of tutoring as well as the ending benefits. My experience is mainly with elementary and middle school students in the areas of reading, phonics, grammar, language arts, math (computation and problem-solving), study skills, organization, and time management.
