Work with me so I can make my success become your success. Together we can break the ice of incomprehension that bars the way between you and your academic goals. I'm eager to teach you to love the very subjects you used to hate.

I scored 155+ on a professionally administered IQ test, started college at age fourteen, graduated there at the top of my class, and made a perfect score on the GRE on my first try. I've earned double Master's degrees, the first from Duke University and the second from the University of Texas.

I specialize in taking students from ground zero all the way to the apex of their abilities. I work with my students slowly and carefully, with warmth and encouragement, going at their own pace.

GRE tutor

I just had my first lesson today with Richard online and it went wonderfully! I have had many tutors in my lifetime and he is by far one of the best I have ever had. even though it was just our first lesson, I understood everything he was explaining to me because of how well he broke everything down. He put it all into terms that I could understand and it was not like learning a foreign language for once :)

THE BEST Wyzant teacher to date.

I needed help on my upcoming Philosophy exam, and Richard was so helpful and able to explain everything perfectly! I would highly recommend this tutor if you know whats best for you! Thank you Richard

Very helpful

Richard really helped me break down an essay for my outline and also made sure I was understanding everything I needed too to help build my confidence with writing philosophy essays.

Highly Recommended ACT Tutor!

My daughter went up by 3 points on her ACT composite score, after working with Richard for less than a month! Richard was professional, kind, and easy to work with. He was very good at communication and helped my daughter both with practical skills and with encouragement and self-confidence. I couldn't recommend him more highly -- he's the best tutor out there for the ACT and probably for any test prep.

Helping daughter with ACT prep

Richard is a very effective tutor. He is patient, very knowledge about test strategies, etc. and very flexible to work with. I never thought remote tutoring could work but it does. My daughter very much enjoys working with him!

Best tutor on the market

One of a few people I find to be legit smart...seriously the guy went to college when he was 14. Now, per tutoring, he has that capability to break down things to smaller bites. So any hard concepts become easy. I personally believe this is his signature to everything. I took GRE with him. I first explained to him what was my situation and my goal. I was absolutely crammed with at least 60 hours of work per week, so I didn't have much time for GRE preparation. He has the apply-for-all mad formulas that I wouldn't think of to basically semi-cheat the system. What more could you ask for?

Thorough and makes sure you understand

How to break down a question into manageable steps and eliminate incorrect answers with a variety of useful techniques. Additionally I learned how to apply these techniques to the different types of questions. This strategy is going to help me be more decisive in selecting my answer instead of getting tripped up.

Fantastic Session!

I was having trouble with the philosophy of science. To help me, he took a great amount of time in advance to best prepare for the meeting and figure out the plan so that we did not waste any time. He also makes concepts super clear with specific examples that are easy to understand. I highly recommend Mr. Davis if you are having trouble with any topic that he teaches. :)

Knowledgeable and kind

Richard is a tremendous teacher. He has helped me to avoid grammar and punctuation mistakes. He has also taught me the value of writing a fluid paper. He is patient and kind. He is worth every penny!
