Welcome!
I believe taking the time to talk with a prospective tutor is the first (and very important!) step toward finding the best support for your needs and goals so I
encourage you to reach out to me and with any questions you may have.
In the meantime, thank you for taking the time to learn about me.
I am a neurobiologist by training and started tutoring back in the late nineties.
I loved it so much that I eventually left my research path, completed graduate level education, and shifted my focus to teaching and tutoring.
After completing my graduate coursework at UGA in 2011, I started teaching for a local school district and, when the opportunity arose, I transitioned to the role of Math and Science interventionist and independent consulting.
I regularly provide individualised support and guidance to students and their families in the Atlanta metro area (and even beyond, through the modern marvel of web conferencing!).
I have accepted both private and institutional assignments and I pride myself with repeat requests and referrals from satisfied families. I offer tutoring, one-one-one to small group teaching, homeschooling support and instruction for my fields and languages.
I also tutor and coach students preparing for standardised testing, SAT, PSAT, PPSAT, ISEE, and entrance tests required by various professional programs (UG, Graduate), TOEFL, and other English proficiency exams.

In addition to being trilingual English-Spanish-Italian, I have completed graduate level coursework on second language acquisition and the best methods in language instruction, and I have been teaching my languages since the mid nineties.

CERTIFICATIONS - ALL sciences, Math, ESOL, Italian, Spanish, Special Education, and AP Environmental Science.

TRAINING - Wilson Reading System, Wilson FUNdations, Teaching Languages with Stories and Storytelling, Eureka Math (Eng. and Span. editions), Estrellita, Escalera, and Lunita (Spanish reading curriculum), and Handwriting without Tears. UFLI Fundations (in progress).

In addition to this, I am trained in the literacy and numeralcy curriculum Learning Without Tears (formerly Handwriting Without Tears) and in the mathematics curriculum Everyday Mathematics. contained special education for struggling, ). While I have been tutoring through WyzAnt since 2013, I have 20 years of experience with students from a variety of backgrounds and competencies and I over this time I have found my passion is zeroing in on the most important component of a thriving academic experience, whether a student has acquired sufficient/successful study skills to benefit from our time together and, if that's not the case, help them identify the strategies that will most help him/her study/learn the content on hand as well as transfer to their future applications.
