Bio

I’ve been tutoring the LSAT, GRE, and GMAT for over 15 years, with 10,000+ hours of experience and nearly 1,900 student reviews. My ratings are consistently high, with about 99% of students leaving four- or five-star feedback.

I’ve been tutoring the LSAT, GRE, and GMAT for over 15 years, with 10,000+ hours of experience and nearly 1,900 student reviews. My ratings are consistently high, with about 99% of students leaving four- or five-star feedback.

I’m also an official LSAT content provider licensed by the Law School Admission Council, and I bring a practical perspective from having taken these exams myself, including as a former attorney and as a graduate student.

Over time, I’ve worked with a wide range of students and have developed a clear understanding of where people tend to struggle, how to address those challenges efficiently, and how to structure prep so it actually leads to results.

That experience shows up in how I guide students through the entire process — from choosing the right materials, to balancing practice work with full tests, to improving timing, accuracy, and confidence along the way.

My approach is simple: I organize your prep into a clear, manageable plan, give you focused work between sessions, and use our time together to address exactly what needs improvement.

The goal is steady progress, no wasted effort, and a prep process you can rely on.

Approved Subjects

GMAT

GMAT

I’ve spent over 15 years helping students prepare for the GMAT, and that experience shows up in how I guide them through all three sections in a clear, practical way. For Quant, I focus on strengthening the underlying math while also improving how students work through problem setups efficiently. For Verbal, the focus is on breaking down arguments and moving through passages with clarity and control. For Data Insights, I teach the core structures and purposes behind the different charts, tables, and graphs so students know what to expect and how to approach them with confidence. I also work with students on evaluating answer choices more effectively, which leads to better pacing, stronger accuracy, and more consistent performance across the test.
Grammar

Grammar

I help students understand how sentences actually work—not just memorize rules. By making the structure of English clear and visible, students learn how to identify the main idea, see how parts connect, and use tools like sentence diagramming with confidence. My approach is step-by-step and supportive, designed especially for middle and high school students, but also perfectly suited for adults as well. The result is stronger reading, clearer writing, and real confidence with grammar.
GRE

GRE

I have over 15 years of experience helping students prepare for the GRE, and that experience shows up in how I guide them through the test in a clear and practical way. I work with students to strengthen both the core math skills and the higher-level thinking the Quant section requires, while also building manageable vocabulary study habits and more efficient ways to read and understand passages. A big part of my focus is helping students recognize what makes answer choices work — and why others don’t — so they can make more confident decisions. Over time, this leads to stronger accuracy, better timing, and a more consistent overall performance.
LSAT

LSAT

The LSAT is a very specific test — and most of the improvement comes from learning how to approach it the right way. For Logical Reasoning, we focus on making sure you know exactly how to handle each question type so nothing feels unfamiliar. The goal is consistency — recognizing what the question is asking and knowing how to work through it step by step. For Reading Comprehension, the focus is on getting through dense passages efficiently while still understanding what matters. That’s where timing and accuracy start to come together. Throughout the process, I help you stay organized with a clear plan, the right practice materials, and a balance between drills and full tests so your prep builds in a steady, structured way. During sessions, we focus directly on what needs improvement. Between sessions, you’ll have targeted work so your practice stays consistent and productive. The goal is simple: to make the test feel manageable, predictable, and something you know how to handle.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I’ve worked with a few hundred students on personal statements, helping them gain admission to the programs they were targeting. My approach centers on showing a clear, thoughtful connection between the student and the specific department, using real details from the program to demonstrate fit. I also guide students away from overused or generic language and toward presenting their experiences in a more focused and meaningful way. The result is a more targeted, compelling statement that stands out to admissions committees.
Reading

Reading

I teach students (from 8th grade through adulthood) how to read in a clear, structured way so they’re actually in control of the material in front of them. By focusing on how sentences and paragraphs are built, students learn to identify the main idea, follow how it develops, and separate what matters from what doesn’t. The approach is simple, supportive, and highly repeatable. The result is a lifetime of stronger comprehension, better retention, and more confident reading.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I’m a professional tutor with 15+ years of test-prep experience and years of classroom teaching at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I specialize in SAT Reading, helping students build the comprehension, reasoning, and passage-strategy skills needed for strong, reliable performance. I meet students at any level—beginner, plateaued, or advanced—and provide all lesson materials plus a clear, structured plan using official SAT practice tests for benchmarking.

Great Teacher, Surpassed my score goals

Scott is an awesome tutor. He’s straightforward and very supportive. Ultimately, how well you do on the GRE is up to you. But having someone in your corner to point out what you need to be focusing on is key. Scott really provides the right resources and points you in the right direction. And he just generally kept morale up, which is invaluable. I got a better score than I even expected. Can’t recommend him more highly!

Scott is super patient with me which makes me feel very comfortable. He doesn’t judge me if I don’t know the definition of a word or a a simple answer to a simple question. He’s also provides great techniques for the different GRE subjects, which has really been helping me. He breaks everything down and makes it a lot easier for me to understand.
