MATH & PHYSICS

I tutor Math and Physics all the way up to the college level. I have a Ph.D. from one of the top engineering schools in the country and love math and science. Especially teaching it. I know how to explain and relate difficult concepts in a way that not only makes sense for the students, but will stick with them. Students often tell me: "when you explain it, it makes total sense, but when my teacher does, I have no clue".

Many of my students become the to-go-to person in class for classmates that need help, or even correct teachers when they make mistakes. The pride I see in their eyes (or their parents') is priceless to me and it's one of the reasons I love what I do!

I tutor Calculus up to the AP level (both AB and BC) and college level (Calculus 1/Differential Calculus and Calculus 2/Integral Calculus). I have several degrees in Engineering from Georgia Tech, so I have done more calculus in my life than was probably useful, but I love teaching others how to make sense out of calculus and how to simplify it so much that it becomes understandable. Geometry is a more visual type of math and many students that are excellent in Algebra, struggle with Geometry. It doesn't have to be that hard if you have the right teacher/tutor and if you are willing to study (and memorize!) theorems and postulates. I have tutored Geometry for 10+ years and will help you 'see' math in an effective way.

I have a passion for Physics. Everything around us can somehow be traced back to the laws of Physics, which I think is very fascinating. I have tutored Physics for over 15 years, including at Georgia Tech where I graduated from. Both high school and college Physics 1 and 2. I believe my success with students comes from being able to relate physics concepts to day to day experiences and examples. This makes it much easier to understand, and maybe even more important, it makes it a lot more interesting and fun for the student.

Precalculus includes a lot of trig and that is scary. It doesn't have to be though with the right instruction. I love teaching others how to make sense out of precalculus and how to simplify it so much that it becomes understandable. I have helped many precalculus students see the light, increase their scores, and become the student to whom classmates go for help.

With the right explanation it is really not that difficult, but unfortunately many teacher make it more difficult than needed.
