I am currently a senior Biology major at Spelman College with a strong academic background in science, mathematics, and research. Throughout my college experience, I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students through tutoring, mentorship, college readiness, and community-based educational programs.
I previously served as an elementary math tutor with a nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Georgia, where I helped young students strengthen their foundational mathematics skills and build confidence in their academic abilities. This experience strengthened my ability to break down challenging concepts, adapt to different learning styles, and make learning engaging and accessible.
I am also the founder of the ASCEND College Prep Program, an initiative focused on empowering students through academic preparation, mentorship, and college readiness. Additionally, I founded REIGNing Through S.T.E.M., reflecting my commitment to expanding educational opportunities and encouraging young people, particularly those from underrepresented communities, to pursue their academic and professional goals.
My experience also includes working with adolescents ages 12–17 through community-based research and educational programming, where I helped students develop critical thinking, communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
My tutoring philosophy centers on patience, encouragement, and individualized learning. I recognize that every student learns differently, and I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, overcoming challenges, and celebrating their progress.
As a Black woman pursuing a career in medicine, I am passionate about the power of education and representation. My goal is to do more than help students earn better grades. I want to empower them to believe in themselves, develop a genuine love for learning, and recognize that their potential is limitless.
