Hi I’m Oliver! I’m a Master of Science in Public Health student at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, where I hold a 3.87 GPA, and I studied biology at Villanova University. On the MCAT, I scored in the 99th percentile on the Biology and Biochemical Foundations section and the 93rd percentile on the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations section. I also earned a perfect 800 on the SAT Math Level 2 Subject Test. I’m fully bilingual and happy to tutor in English or Spanish. I am brand new to Wyzant.
I’ve learned that the hardest part of science and math is rarely the material itself. It’s usually one missing piece that makes everything after it feel confusing. My sessions start by finding that gap, then building the concept back up so that metabolic pathways, physiology, or algebra feel logical instead of memorized. I like to explain the idea, work through an example together, and then have the student try one on their own so I can see exactly where they are. For MCAT students, I focus on high-yield content and passage-based reasoning with timed practice, since I know firsthand what it takes to score at the top of the Bio/Biochem section. I always adjust my approach to each student’s goals and learning style.
My teaching experience includes tutoring in Math, Science, and specifically biology. I also serve as Program Coordinator for PrIMES, a premedical mentorship program affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, where I guide aspiring physicians through coursework and MCAT preparation. At Emory’s Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, I conduct bilingual memory screenings, which have taught me to explain complex ideas clearly and patiently to people of all ages.
