I am a research scientist and current PhD student in Biomedical Engineering with extensive hands-on experience in biology, biotechnology, cell culture, and cell and gene therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering and have built my career working in academic and biotechnology research environments. My professional experience includes mammalian and immune cell culture, cell characterization, cell therapy manufacturing, experimental design, and biological data analysis. This combination of academic training and practical laboratory experience allows me to help students understand biological concepts while also showing how those concepts are applied in real research and biotechnology.
My teaching experience began as an undergraduate, when I worked as a tutor helping fellow students understand challenging course material. Teaching and mentoring have continued to be important parts of my career. I currently serve in a workforce development training role where I help teach hands-on cell manufacturing and laboratory concepts to learners with a range of scientific backgrounds. I have also trained laboratory personnel and regularly work one-on-one with students, researchers, and colleagues to explain experimental methods, troubleshoot problems, interpret data, and strengthen their understanding of scientific concepts. My approach is to identify where understanding begins to break down and work through the topic step-by-step, using examples and questions rather than simply providing an answer.
I am comfortable helping high school, AP, and undergraduate students with general biology, cell biology, immunology, biotechnology, and related topics. I can also help with cell culture, flow cytometry, cell and gene therapy concepts, experimental design, scientific literature, lab calculations, data interpretation, and scientific writing. My goal is to make challenging material approachable while helping students build the confidence to solve similar problems independently.
