Not sure whether your child is truly ready for Algebra—or worried that acceptable grades may be hiding gaps in fractions, negative numbers, ratios, equations, or multistep problems? I help parents understand what their student knows, identify priority gaps, and create a plan before small problems grow.
Many students can follow familiar steps but become confused when a problem looks different. They may rely on memorization, guessing, or extensive help at home without fully understanding the math. I look beyond the final answer to see how the student is thinking, find the earlier skill beneath the mistake, explain the concept clearly, and provide focused practice.
I have a Mathematics degree and an MBA from Emory University and I’ve spent 10 years helping students understand math. I’ve professionally tutored and taught in classrooms for tutoring and test prep organizations. I specialize in making complex ideas easier to understand and creating those lightbulb moments when math finally makes sense.
Lessons use clear explanations, guided examples, targeted practice, error analysis, and independent problem-solving. The goal is not simply to finish homework, but to help students understand why a method works, recognize patterns, and check their answers.
My approach is especially helpful for parents who want to know whether their middle-school student is prepared for Algebra, prevent them from falling behind, or strengthen foundations for high-school math and future Digital SAT success. Parents receive a clear explanation of strengths, priority gaps, and next steps.
I also work with adults preparing for the GRE or GMAT who feel rusty on foundational math. I help rebuild skills such as fractions, percentages, ratios, algebraic manipulation, and word-problem translation, then apply them to test-style questions.
Parents: Send your child’s grade, course, and any main concerns.
Adult test takers: Send the exam practice score, test date and topics to strengthen.
