Hello! I’m Monique, an experienced educator with 22 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching both in the United States and internationally, working with students from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of academic abilities. From English Language Learners to gifted students, I believe every child has the ability to succeed when they’re given the right support, encouragement, and instruction.
Over the course of my career, I have partnered with hundreds of students and families, allowing me to quickly identify learning gaps and create personalized strategies that help students grow with confidence. While I enjoy teaching all elementary subjects, mathematics has always been a passion of mine. In addition to teaching elementary students, I have also worked with middle school students with a focus on mathematics, helping them strengthen foundational skills, develop problem-solving strategies, and build confidence in their abilities. I also tutor reading, writing, study skills, and homework support, tailoring every lesson to meet each student’s individual learning style and goals.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating a positive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating growth. I use interactive, research-based strategies to make learning meaningful while helping students become independent thinkers rather than simply memorizing procedures. As an Apple Distinguished Teacher and Seesaw Ambassador, I enjoy incorporating technology when it enhances learning, but my greatest priority is building strong relationships with students and families.
