Hello and welcome! I'm so excited about the opportunity to work with you or your student. Science has always been my passion, and I love helping others discover that it's not nearly as intimidating as it seems once you break it down the right way. My academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Genetics from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. I am now a certified Physician Assistant. My teaching experience spans several years and settings: I spent two years tutoring elementary schoolers in a one-on-one setting while nannying, and I later served as a peer tutor throughout both college and graduate school, helping fellow students work through challenging coursework. Combined with nearly four years of hands-on clinical healthcare experience, I specialize in biology, anatomy, and physiology, and I've had the chance to work with students across a wide range of levels, from elementary schoolers just starting to explore science to post-graduate students tackling advanced coursework.
I know firsthand what it feels like to be overwhelmed by science, and that's exactly why I teach the way I do. My approach is patient and adaptable, and I take the time to meet each student where they are rather than following a one-size-fits-all lesson plan. Whether I'm helping a younger student understand how the human body works for the first time or walking a graduate student through a complex physiological process, my goal is never just to help someone memorize facts for a test, but to help them genuinely understand the material so it sticks with them long after. I love breaking down complicated ideas using real-world analogies and hand-drawn diagrams, because sometimes a concept just clicks once you see it a different way.
Whether you're preparing for an exam or working through a tough unit, I'd love to help in a one-on-one setting tailored specifically to you. No question is too small, and no topic is too intimidating to tackle together. I look forward to working with you!
